Improper Nutrition Kills!

Proper nutrition is vital to your physical and mental health. Not getting the nutrients your body needs leads to any number of diseases, sickness, and even death. There are people walking around, who are malnourished simply because they’re not eating the right things! They eat all the time, but their bodies are not getting the nutrients they need, and they’re suffering because of it.

Improper nutrition can lead to problems with your brain, nervous system, and bodily functions. It can cause many things, like scurvy, diabetes, blood diseases, hypoglycemia, and more. A diet low in iron leads to anemia, colon cancer, and infections. A high-fat diet can lead to stroke and heart attack. You can end up with little or no energy, heart disease, vitamin deficiencies, nerve diseases, cancer, and blood diseases by not eating enough fruits and vegetables!

 How Do I Stay Nourished?

It’s vital that you get three complete balanced meals per day. These meals should contain vegetables and fruits, protein, dairy, such as cheese or milk, grains, and fats or oils. Not only is it important that you eat from each food group in every meal, but it’s just as important that you eat the right amount of each food group each day.

It’s recommended that you get 6-11 Servings of grains, such as bread, pasta, rice, and oatmeal; 3 to 5 servings of vegetables; 2 to 4 servings of fruit; 2 to 3 servings of meat, fish, eggs, dry beans, poultry, or nuts; 2 to 3 servings of yogurt, milk,  or cheese; and, fats, oils, and sweets (sorry guys…) used very sparingly.

Water is also a vital part of our nutrition each day. Dehydration can cause Urinary Tract Infections, disorientation, fainting, and more. Severe dehydration can cause death!

Other Important Factors

Most people cannot get all the vitamins and minerals that they need from their diet alone. This is why vitamins are so important to our daily nutrition. Many vitamins and minerals can be purchased to fill in the nutritional gaps. Most people go with a good daily vitamin.
