WEEK 10: Healthy Weight Challenge

The team is moving into the homestretch now, having collectively lost nearly 140 lbs! Nurse Jacquie is finding that many of the suggestions she has made, have now become second nature to the team. Everyone is making healthier choices when it comes to food, an important habit to form going into the holiday season where temptation will be around every corner, but hopefully not in the lunchroom.

Some staffers who were not fans of exercise are now gung-ho to get to the gym or head out for a brisk walk. We are headquartered in Florida, so even early in the morning it has been hot and humid, but there is a change on the air and we’ll be ushering in Fall soon, so going out for that walk will be even more refreshing.

With just a couple of weeks left in the challenge, the participants are now pushing hard to reach their goals. Actually, six of them already have surpassed the goal they set for themselves and are working on maintaining and even shooting for a higher amount lost. Keep up the good work team!

WEEK 8: 90-Day Healthy Weight Challenge

Hoorah! The group made it past the plateau! After a couple of lackluster weeks, the team put up an impressive number this week – 18.5 lbs down in just one week! That brings the total lost up to 129 lbs with just five weeks to go.

This week’s loss goes to show that if you feel you aren’t making the gains you want, you just have to continue with the plan and push through. In looking at the group’s activity, it showed that many of them increased their exercise in order to make it past the plateau – some even doubled the distance they were walking and the amount of time they were spending at the gym. The vitamins and supplements do a great job of getting the body in the right set to lose the weight, but the work has to be put in to actually burn the weight off.

We have been so impressed with the tenacity of the group over the past eight weeks. They have changed their eating habits to healthier foods – no more junk food in the cafeteria; they are all doing some form of exercise; and the chatter around the office is incredibly supportive and collaborative. We can’t wait to see what the next five weeks bring!

WEEK 5: 90-Day Healthy Weight Challenge

We are now in week 5 of our 90-Day Healthy Weight Challenge. The team seems to be getting into a routine of doing some kind of exercise in addition to taking the supplements and eating healthier. A number of people are walking or running, while others are practicing Tai Chi or yoga, some are hitting the gym, and still others are gardening, cleaning house and even horseback riding – any way they can find to burn calories, they are.

We thought we’d profile one of the participants, so here’s a little about Suzy. Suzy had actually begun a weight loss program just prior to the start of the Challenge, so she had a bit of a head-start on the rest of the group. “I decided I wanted to lose 15 lbs and now was the perfect time to do it” she stated. She started with modifying her diet to make more healthy choices and when the Challenge kicked off, the addition of the supplements hastened the weight off. Suzy is one of the participants taking Integrative Therapeutics’ 7-KETO Lean to burn fat, not muscle. To complement the dietary changes and supplements, Suzy is also increasing her activity level by walking and hitting the gym to build muscle and burn fat. Thanks to all her hard work, Suzy has already reached her original goal and is now working toward the next one!

Overall, the team is showing some great results and over just 5 weeks have lost a total of 96 lbs!
